Microsoft has noticed that windows live messenger can only be used through your computer with its latest version of windows live messenger 8.5 or heigher ..

even if you download latest windows live messenger and try to sign in but get errors like

errors then here is the solution that you might be searching..

i am sure that you are not being able to find da solution for it ans using web based messengers like
meebo.com ,ebuddy.com and so on….

What are the steps that we need to do to solve this problem?

Here are the Steps that you need to follow..
1. you need to uninstall the latest version of windows live messenger for this task you need a special uninstaller because you cant get uninstall tab in control pannel and add/remove programs…you can download this special windows live messenger from here
and your messenger will get uninstalled..

download the messenger uninstaller and it will uninstall your latest live messenger

2. For Windows XP users:

a. Click Start, click Run, copy and paste the following text:
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft in the Run box and press ENTER or click OK. Delete the IdentityCRL folder.
b. Click Start, click Run, copy and paste the following text: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft in the Run box and press ENTER or click OK. Delete the IdentityCRL folder.
c. Click Start, click Run, copy and paste the following text: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft in the Run box and press ENTER or click OK. Delete the Windows Live Contacts folder.
d. Click Start, click Run, type %USERPROFILE% in the Run box and press ENTER. Delete the Contacts folder.

For Windows Vista users:
a. Click Start, copy and paste this message in the Start Search box %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ and then press Enter. Delete the Windows Live Contacts folder.
b. Click Start, copy and paste this message in the Start Search box %userprofile% and the press Enter. Delete the Contacts folder.
Delete the registry keys for Windows Live Messenger:
Note: This is editing the registry keys of your computer which is very risky but you can trust us….its safe..

now follow the process and do it as steps given

1. Click Start, and then Run. Type CMD and then click OK.
2. Type the following commands one by one and then press enter:
REG DELETE “HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live\Messenger’ /f

REG DELETE “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger’ /f

REG DELETE “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live\Communications Clients\Shared’ /f

REG DELETE “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL’ /f

These are the things i did when i had problem and this worked for me..hope if it worked in yours tooo….
